BUCYRUS, OH (CrawfordCountyNow) – Since opening its doors in 2017, Bucyrus TapHouse has become more than just a gathering spot for craft beer enthusiasts, they’ve established themselves as a cornerstone of our community. Located on Sandusky Avenue, the TapHouse blends entrepreneurial spirit with a commitment to revitalizing Bucyrus.
Owners Sarah and Michael Turner envisioned the TapHouse as a way to bring new life to their hometown. Their journey began with a simple question: How could they combine their passion for craft beer with a love for their community?
After extensive research and trips to regional breweries, the Turners transformed a historic downtown building into a vibrant venue. With its exposed brick walls and reclaimed wood finishes, the TapHouse provides a welcoming ambiance for locals and visitors alike. Its rotating menu of Ohio-brewed beers, house-made cocktails, and locally sourced small plates celebrates the region’s rich culinary traditions.
The TapHouse also plays a key role in Bucyrus’ economic and cultural landscape. The Turners partner with local organizations to host events such as live music nights, trivia contests, and fundraisers that benefit area nonprofits. Additionally, they hire local artists to decorate the space, further investing in the town’s creative scene.
The TapHouse’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, the Bucyrus Chamber of Commerce recognized the business with its Community Impact Award, applauding its efforts to foster a sense of unity and pride in the town.
For the Turners, success is measured not only in pints poured but also in the connections made. As they look toward the future, they plan to expand their offerings with more collaborations with local businesses and continued involvement in revitalizing Bucyrus.
