In 2025, let’s turn good ideas into GREAT accomplishments!

Premium Ad placements on Legacy Obituaries for local sales

Legacy Obituaries are now live in most markets. With this comes sales opportunities. On our obit’s page, we have premium ad placement in the leaderboard banner at the top and a banner on the right side. Obituaries pages generate large view numbers so you should be able to sell several advertisers rotating through these positions.

Desktop Ads

  • 728×90 Leaderboard
Placement: Top of the page for maximum visibility.
  • 300×250 Medium Rectangle
Placement: Right rail for consistent engagement.

Mobile Ads

  • 320×50 Leaderboard
Placement: Optimized for mobile viewing, ensuring high visibility on smaller screens.

Funeral Home Local Spotlight

Legacy’s “Funeral Home Local Spotlight” program offers funeral homes the opportunity to have logo on their actual obituaries, giving them more branding opportunities.

  • Cost: Legacy charges $7 per obituary for this feature.
  • Your Opportunity: Include this hard cost in your pricing when selling this program to funeral homes.

I’ve noticed that some of our news teams are struggling to find content to schedule for weekends and holidays. Below is an article explaining why publishing on these days is important, along with ideas for evergreen content you can plan and schedule in advance. Please read the article.

To ensure you have engaging content for the weekends, start scheduling the Work Week Weather to post on Sunday afternoons. While weather can occasionally change, forecasts are typically reliable enough to provide useful information for readers.

Other features, such as Pet of the Week, Know Your Neighbor, and similar recurring segments, are also options for weekend and holiday content. These evergreen pieces remain relevant and can be published at any time, making them ideal for filling weekend posting schedules.

Let me know if you have any questions or need further help with scheduling!

I have met with several of you about cleaning up our navigation. We will circle back around the finalizing the changes after next week. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at the new ABOUT US page- Check it out here!
